AIMIM Gujarat Spokesperson Danish Qureshi arrested

Ahmedabad: Danish Qureshi, the State Spokesperson of Asaduddin and Akbaruddin Owaisi led AIMIM has been nabbed by Cyber Crime branch of Ahmedabad police under the IPC sections including that pertaining to IT act. Qureshi is accused of hurting religious sentiments of Hindus through his tweet in which he has grossly disrespected the symbol of Hindu faith, Shivalinga of Bhagwan Shiv in reference to recent incident at Gyanvyapi complex in Varanasi in which a Shivling of Baba Vishwanath mandir was discovered.

As per the police official, “A tweet made from Twitter handle of Danish Qureshi resident of Shahpur Ahmedabad, contained derogatory remark about Hindu god, and after the technical analysis of the tweet he was arrested in IPC Section 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) And 295A (Injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) under relevant sections of IT Act.”
Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has filed a complaint at Naroda Police Station and another complaint has been made at Vasna Police station against AIMIM leader for hurting Hindu sentiments. A resident of Ahmedabad, Jaydipsinh Vaghela had approached Vasna police station over Danish’s tweet and demanded that police should file an offence. Several other Hindu leaders including Yogi Devnath had also demanded Danish’s arrest. DeshGujarat
