SMC begins use of e-Sarkar portal to send, receive letters from state govt
May 21, 2022
Surat: All written communication between the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and the state government are now taking place through the e-government portal. On the very first day, the SMC received 16 letter from the state government through this e-government portal. The various departments of the SMC have now been connected with the state government through the e-government portal. Instead of snail mail and email, government letters and circulars will be received through the e-government portal and the SMC will also have to reply to the letters through the e-government portal.
The state government had launched the e-government portal some time back and now instructions have been issued to carry out all exchanges of written communication through this medium.
The chief secretary of urban development, Gujarat, Mukesh Kumar, on Friday chaired a meeting of municipal commissioners of the eight municipal corporations and told them to use e-government portal. The government has also named a nodal officer for the seamless exchange of information using the e-government portal.
All departments of the state government will be covered under the e-government portal one after the other. DeshGujarat
