SMC to induct drone cameras for fire rescue ops, spraying insecticides
May 21, 2022
Surat: The role of technology in the administrative work of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is ever expanding. After introducing robotic technology in the firefighting department, SMC now plans to approve the use of drone cameras by the fire department.
The SMC is moving forward with a proposal to induct drone cameras for rescue operations during fire incidents and for the purpose of spraying insecticides and pesticides.
With the induction of drone cameras, firefighters undertaking rescue operations will be able to get true information from outside. The drone cameras are versatile and their use will not merely be restricted to rescue operations during fire incidents.
These drone cameras will also be used by the SMC to spray insecticides over the bay to curb the menace of mosquitoes. Those areas that cannot be accessed by an employee can easily be reached using a drone to spray the insecticides. DeshGujarat
