Row over Rahul Gandhi meeting Jeremy Corbyn who is known for his anti-India stand on Kashmir

New Delhi: The official Twitter handle of the Indian Overseas Congress posted a picture of Rahul Gandhi with UK politician Jeremy Corbyn on Monday in London. Corbyn is known for his anti-India stands, particularly on Kashmir issue.

BJP leader Kapil Mishra slammed Rahul on Twitter and asked, “What is Rahul Gandhi doing with Jeremy Corbyn in London ? Jeremy Corbyn is infamous for Anti India Anti Hindu Stand”.

“Jeremy Corbyn is openly advocating separation of Kashmir from India”, Mishra added.

BJP’s Department of Foreign Affairs In-Charge Vijay Chauthaiwale also slammed Gandhi. “Anti-Hindu and anti-India forces in the UK received open support from Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

Jeremy, in the past, has made anti-India remarks about the situation of human rights in Kashmir and has embraced the aggressive line dictated by Pakistani-origin MPs.

“The situation in Kashmir is deeply disturbing. Human rights abuses taking place are unacceptable. The rights of the Kashmiri people must be respected and UN resolutions implemented” he said on Twitter.

Notably, even his own party had outrightly disowned Corbyn’s views on Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP leader Shezad Poonawala asked that “Today Rahul and congress party should tell us that, are they validating the views of Jeremy Corbyn on Kashmir, this is the same Jeremy who wants Kashmir to be taken away from India.”

This picture is another medal in Rahul’s long list of controversial activities for which Poonawala said, “this seems to be more of a Bharat Todo Yatra for Rahul Gandhi…He first questions democratic institutions of India and now you have him posing with anti-India baiter whose own party has shunned him…”

In 2019 when the delegation of Congress leaders had met with Jeremy Corbyn after the abrogation of article 370 in Kashmir. Home Minister Amit Shah had said, “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, what does your party want to do by discussing matters of the country with foreign leaders.”
