Mahesana: The public is seething with anger after an idol of Lord Shiva with the damru, which has been placed at the Biladi Baug Cross Road on Somnath Road in Mehsana, was defaced by miscreants.

Mehsana District Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Ghanshyam bhai Kadia, visited the spot in light of the unfortunate incident and held a meeting of various Hindu organizations. A resolution was passed at the meeting to nab those who committed this blasphemous act at the earliest. The VHP has also threatened to submit memorandums and hold sit-ins in the coming days to protest against this incident.
