Land to be acquired for utility tunnel in GIFT City
May 28, 2022
Gandhinagar: The state government has begun the process of acquiring land for a proposed tunnel to provide world-class infrastructure facilities in residential and commercial areas of Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) city, which is being developed as an international financial and banking hub in Gandhinagar.
The tunnel will be used to lay cables for providing basic infrastructure facilities such as power, gas, and internet connectivity. Solid waste collection will also happen using this same tunnel. Pipelines for supplying chilled water will also pass through the tunnel.
In the past the land had been acquired in Firojpur, Ratanpur, and Shahpur villages for GIFT city. Like in the past, even now the land is being acquired in the public interest. This time land in two survey-block numbers each of Firojpur and Ratanpur has been proposed to be acquired. DeshGujarat
