Hardik Patel joins BJP

Gandhinagar: Hardik Patel who resigned from number two post in Gujarat Congress a few days ago, today joined ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was offered saffron scarf and cap by State BJP chief CR Patil and former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel. Hundreds of supporters of Hardik had gathered in the morning at Koba circle on Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar road. Hardik took position in open black jeep and reached from Koba circle to State BJP office at Shri Kamalam in Koba in procession. Several of Hardik supporters who were interviewed by local news channels stated that Hardik finally took right decision by joining a nationalist party. Hardik after his joining, presented copies of ‘Panidar Sardar’ book to BJP leaders on the stage.

In fact several Hindu saints including Nautam Swami, Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj, Avichaldasji among others were present on the stage at BJP office to endorse his decision. The saints offered him saffron scarves and also put dharmik tilak over his forehead. Speaking to media persons, Nautam Swami, said all the youths should join Hindutvavadi force. Nautam Swami said the nation is undeclared Hindu nation nowadays and in this golden time, all Hindu strengths should be unified. He in this reference welcomed Hardik’s decision.

Hardik Patel earned fame after the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) organized a grand gathering of Patidar community at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad in August 2015. The gathering and subsequent violent agitation was for Other Backward Class (OBC) status to Patidar community. Hardik tacitly supported Congress which availed major gains for the party in 2015 local elections and 2017 assembly polls.
