First bullet train to be operated in 2026 between Surat and Bilimora: Railway Minister

Surat: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav today said the government has set the target to operate the first bullet train (high-speed rail) between Surat and Bilimora in South Gujarat in 2026. He said, the works are well in progress and he has full faith that the target shall be achieved.

The railway minister who was in South Gujarat today to inspect the ongoing works of the bullet train project stated that pillar casting for the project has been completed in 61 km length of the route while overall the works are underway in 150 km length of route.
