Gujarat ATS seize heroin worth Rs 250 crore having Pakistani links at Jakhau port

Kutch: Gujarat ATS seized heroin worth Rs 250 crore from seawaters at Jakhau port thrown by the Pakistani sailors from the Al Noman boat.

Gujarat ATS had received the information that Pakistani drug mafias Rahid and Shahab were going to deliver drugs in a Pakistani boat named Al Noman to Jakhau port in Gujarat. Considering the information, ATS and coastguard team conducted a search operation in the Pakistani boat Al Noman. However, drugs were found in it at that time. The seven Pakistani sailors in the boat were held. A crime was filed against them under the Foreigners Act for illegally entering the Indian border. ATS found during their inquiry that they threw the drugs from the boat in the seawaters after seeing a large boat coming toward them for the search. One of the sailors named Akram informed during the inquiry that the drugs were delivered from Pishukan and Gwadar port of Pakistan. Special training was given to the sailors in Pakistan for delivering the drugs, as revealed in the investigation.

A team of Jakhau marine police and BSF found two bags of drugs from Shiyal Creek from Jakhau port, during the investigation. It was found around 40 to 45 km away from the place where it was thrown. It contained 49 packets of heroin. A total of 50 kgs of heroin was found in the two bags, which is worth Rs 250 crore. A team of Gujarat ATS reached Jakhau and seized the drugs.

Some out of the 7 Pakistani sailors nabbed by ATS have previously travelled to Africa, Somalia, Qatar and Dubai for drug delivery, as revealed in the inquiry. DeshGujarat.
