Narmada Nigam completes constructing Kutch Branch Canal

Kutch: Work on the last 24 kilometers long stretch of the Kutch Branch Canal (KBC), which had come to a grinding halt for five years due to land acquisition issues, has been finally completed by the Narmada Nigam.

The Narmada Nigam took 18 months to complete the last 24-kilometre stretch of the 357.185 kilometres long KBC, which passes through Patan and Banaskantha districts before entering into Kutch at Rapar taluka.

The Narmada Nigam resolved the land acquisition issues for the final stretch of KBC during these 18 months in 64 different phases.

The KBC will supply water for irrigation to 1,12,000 hectares of farmlands in 182 villages of Kutch. DeshGujarat.
