Gandhinagar: After being prodded by New Delhi, four agencies under the state and central governments have initiated a probe into all the administrative, development-related and land-revenue decisions of promoted IAS officer, SK Langa, who retired from government service as the collector of Gandhinagar.
Every decision with regards to administration or development work taken by Langa in the last 15 years whether as an additional collector, IAS or even on posts he continued to occupy post-retirement will be scrutinized by the revenue department, panchayat department, General Administrative Department, Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Economic Offences Wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
A probe conducted by the GAD prima facie has concluded that as a Panchmahal collector he saved bogus farmers from facing government action by continuing to recognize them as farmers for which a criminal offence was also filed against him in the last week of April in Godhra.
A 2006 batch promoted IAS, SK Langa has worked as an additional collector Junagarh RDC, Patan RAC and after promotion as Mehsana DDO, Panchmahal collector and Gandhinagar collector.
The stories of Langa’s misdeeds finally reached the ears of Delhi when he was serving as the officer on special duty (OSD) in the Surat Municipal Corporation post his retirement from government service as Gandhinagar collector following which the GAD and the revenue department are now showing their intent to file a charge sheet against him in various scams.
