Surat to get two more bridges later this month

Surat: The city of Surat will get two new bridges this month. The first one is the Ring Road flyover bridge which had aged and therefore closed for repairing work. The other is country’s first three-layer flyover connecting Man Darwaja to Sahara Darwaja and Sahara Darwaja to Puna gam.

The date of opening of the Ring Road flyover bridge of Surat is postponed to 26th June from 16th June. The bridge is closed at present due to repair work. Under the rehabilitation of the bridge, the superstructure lifting and bearing replacement are in progress. It was earlier declared that the bridge would remain closed for traffic from 9th March to 8th May. However, SMC (Surat Municipal Corporation) postponed the date of opening of the bridge to 16th June from 9th May as the repair work was pending. The opening date 16th June is further postponed to 26th June due to pending repair work. The work of the Sahara darwaja railway flyover bridge linked with the ring road flyover bridge is almost completed. Both bridges are likely to be opened on 26th June. DeshGujarat
