Abdasa MLA meets CM; lists out several demands for Nakhatrana

Gandhinagar: Abdasa BJP MLA Pradhyumansinh Jadeja met Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel over demands for various developments in Nakhatrana and Abdasa in Kutch.

He demanded to give status of municipality to Nakhatrana town in his constituency. The population and spread of Nakhatrana, he said has increased after the 2001 earthquake. New societies and residential areas have come up. Nakhatrana is a gram panchayat at present. It is the largest gram panchayat in Kutch district, having 20 wards. The municipality status to Nakhatrana will help to get sufficient grant for developments of gutters, roads and water, the MLA said while making representation before the Chief Minister.

The MLA also made a demand for a bypass road to resolve the traffic issues in Nakhatrana. He said, Bhuj-Lakhpat highway passes through Nakhatrana and the traffic has increased on this highway due to Mata Na Madh lignite mine, Umarsar lignite mine, salt factories near Haji Pir and so on.
