The Government of Gujarat today in a release said that it aims to enroll 100% of the eligible children in the 17th School Admission Ceremony. For this initiative, the State Government will integrate the birth registration data of the Health Department and the Child Tracking System of Vidya Samiksha Kendra. The State Government’s aim behind this is to see how many children have been born in the state and how many of them are eligible for admission to the school. This time the state government will re-enroll the children who have dropped out of classes 2 to 8 in the last few years in their eligible class. To ensure all private, grant-aided schools and government schools prevent absenteeism, possible dropout etcetera, 100% data-entry of children enrolled will be done.

The government said the dropout rate in Gujarat has decreased by 91.89 percent within 20 years due to shala praveshotsav, said CM Patel. The dropout rate was 37.22 percent in 2002, which has become 3.07 percent in 2022. CM Patel will visit Rumkitalav primary school in Nizar taluka, Tapi on 24th June and AMC run Memnagar parimary school on 25th June.
