MoS Home Harsh Sanghavi reviews security arrangements for Rath Yatra 2022

Sabarmati: Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi had a review meeting with senior police officials in Ahmedabad regarding the security arrangements for the 145th Rathyatra of Bhagvan Jagannathji in the city. Rathh Yatra procession will take place in the city on 1st July.

Sanghavi said that Ratha Yatra bandobast will see greater use of technology this year also. The mini control rooms will be set up at 8 police stations on the route of Rathyatra at Karanj, Shahpur, Madhavpura, Gaekwad Haveli, Shaher Kotda, Kalupur, Khadia, and Dariyapur. The CCTV cameras installed on the route will enable live monitoring. The patrolling will be done through CCTV vehicles at all the police stations. CCTV cameras will be installed on mobile vehicles in moving Bandobast. Body-worn cameras and drone cameras will also be used.

Total 10 teams of bomb detection and disposal squad, Chetak Commando, Dog Squad, Netra will be deployed. The crime branch officials and employees will be deployed in 3 layers for security of the 3 Raths. Over 25,000 police including 8 of DG and IG rank, 30 of SP range, 135 of ACP rank, 68 companies of SRP and CAPF will manage the security of Rath yatra.

State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi also visited Jagannath Mandir and had a meeting with Jagannath Mandir mahant Dilipdasji Maharaj and trustees. He also visited the sites on the Rath Yatra route.
