False gangrape complaint in Bhiloda, Crime registered against instigator

Modasa: Bhiloda police during its investigation found that a gang-rape complaint lodged by a minor girl was false. The police have now booked the instigator behind the false complaint.

A complaint was lodged with the Bhiloda police station on June 11 alleging the gang rape of a girl by a group of youths in Jaswantpura village of Bhiloda. However during the investigation, the medical examination, the location tracking of the accused and the evidence raised suspicions against the complaint. Later, when the statement of the victim girl was recorded, it turned out that the complaint was falsely registered, which left the Bhiloda police in utter shock.

According to a complaint lodged by Niruben Bodat, on June 2, her daughter from Hathiya village in Bhiloda taluka reached her computer class. On her way back from Bhiloda, three other youths were also sitting in the rickshaw with the girl. The three youths took the girl to an acacia forest in Javasantpur village and then gang-raped her.

The police also took immediate action and got her medical examination done, took statements of witnesses and recorded other evidence. Police teams were dispatched to arrest the accused mentioned in the complaint. But when Bhiloda Police Inspector MG Vasava took the statement of the victim in front of another female police constable, she said that her mother had lodged a false complaint at the behest of her uncle-in-law, Tulsibhai Bodat.

Also, she said that she had asked to mention Ajay’s name in the complaint because they had broken up their friendship with each other in the past. The names of the other friends involved were also wrongly mentioned in the complaint. The police were shocked with this revelation and took the case to the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate under CRPC Section-164. Looking at the medical examination reports and the locations of the accused at the time of the incident, it was evident that this was not a case of rape.

According to the facts that emerged in this case, Lalitbhai Rupaji Bodat and plaintiff Niruben’s daughter Sagira had a love marriage with Mayur Bodat in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the victim girl had earlier befriended a young man named Ajit. Therefore, in the enmity of this love marriage, the complaint was made against a friend, and Mayur and Ajit as well. And so, a complaint was lodged against Niruben Hiteshbhai Bodat and her uncle-in-law, Tulsibhai Harjibhai Bodat, who had lodged a false complaint under enmity. DeshGujarat
