Surat to get its first ever Water Plaza built at a cost of 6.35 Crores

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has planned to build city’s first ever water plaza in Singanpore area of Katargam zone at a cost of Rs. 6.35 crore in 5500 sqkm size plot. The city will eventually have a water plaza in every area.

Proposed water plaza will have facilities like rainwater harvesting, urban cooling, recreation, playground facilities, an amphitheater, and social gathering. The immersion of religious idols and tajiya will be done in the water plaza in future, which will save the cost of building artificial ponds every year.

During the dry seasons without rain, the plot is planned to be allotted for social and other playful activities such as playgrounds, parking, etcetera. This move could be a profitable prospect for SMC. DeshGujarat
