Centre approves Rs. 3760 crore works for 34 national highways in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Minister of Roads & Building Purnesh Modi informed that the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved works of 34 national highways in Gujarat at a cost of Rs 3760.64 crore.

Cabinet Minister Purnesh Modi thanked PM Modi and Union minister of road transport Nitin Gadkari for the same, on behalf of Gujarat public. He said that the annual plan of Rs 3760.64 crore for national highways’ works in Gujarat is approved for the year 2022-23 which includes Rs 2511.10 crore for road construction and new bridge construction and Rs 1249.54 crore for pre-construction activity works.

He added that the 12.8-km existing six lane route from Narol junction to Ujala junction will be developed as an eight lane route at a cost of Rs 350 crore. The existing bridge on Sabarmati river will be developed as six-lane. Moreover, a 5.28-km four lane road from Vishala junction to Ujala junction will be converted into 6-lane and an elevated corridor will be developed. Three elevated flyovers of 4 km will be built between Iscon flyover and Sanand flyover at a cost of Rs 110 crore on Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway.

A 10 meter wide road will be built on 50.48 kms till Badhda from Mahuva to Amreli at a cost of Rs 257 crore. Two railway overbridges and a new bridge will be built on it. The vehicles will be able to pass with a speed upto 100 km on it. A 10 meter wide road will be built between Badhda and Amreli of 50.48 km length at a cost of Rs 451.50 crore. Amreli bypass, river bridge towards Bagsara and railway overbridge will be built on it.

New 10 meter wide road will be built at NH 168-G at Bhiloda-Shamlaji at a cost of Rs 450 crore. New small bridges and Bhiloda bypass will be built on it. The existing road of Ahwa-Saputara National Highway-953 will also be upgraded by making it 10 meter wide. Jamnagar-Kalavad National Highway-927-D will be developed as a four lane road at a cost of Rs 250 crore. DeshGujarat
