Sabarmati:Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will renovate Kharicut canal from Naroda Smashan Gruh to Vinzol runnel of 12 760 meter length. AMC has planned to install a precast RCC box canal, storm water box, pipeline for drainage water removal, road and street light in connection with proposed road on the canal, as part of renovation.

The main parts of the Kharicut canal renovation will be as follows: 1. Precast RCC box canal for irrigation, RCC storm water drainage box for transport of rainwater and road making. 2. installing street light 3. installing water line 4. installing drainage line 5. extension of storm water and utility crossing pipe for transport of rainwater 6. shifting of megha line 7 existing utility shifting 8. making of road

The tenders for renovation are divided in 5 packages. The estimated cost of renovation will be Rs 1200 crore. The irrigation department under the state government will give 50 percent expenses of the total cost, which is Rs 600 crore.
