Gujarat govt kicks off country’s largest quiz competition; grand finale on PM’s birthday

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Chief Minister today kicked off the largest quiz competition of India which is going to take place for 75 days across Gujarat. The grand finale of this quiz competition will take place on 17th September, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi in Ahmedabad in the presence of all participants. In the span of 75 days, total prizes to be distributed by the State government will be more than Rs. 25 crore.

The quiz competition has been organized by the department of education, Government of Gujarat. Anyone above class-9 can participate in this quiz. The grand finale will declare 75 school level and 75 college level winners in addition to 750 winners from the citizens of the State who are not students. The first winner will get Rs. 5 lakh prize followed by Rs. 3 lakh prize to second rank winners and Rs. 1.5 lakh to third winners at college level. At school level, the prize mone will be Rs. 3 lakh, Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh.

The first phase quiz will take place in taluka, municipality and ward levels. The second phase will involve district and municipal corporation levels. The third and the last phase will involve an offline quiz at the State level. The quiz will start every week on Sunday and end every Friday. The winners will be declared every Saturday. The duration of the quiz will be 20 minutes.

Daily 250 digital booklets will be available online for participants as guide. Every week, ten-ten winners will be declared at taluka, ward, school, college and university levels, while twenty winners will be declared from the citizens. Four members of over 1.50 lakh winners in taluka level quiz will be given free of cost study tour of Science City within one year period. 820 students and 4100 citizens from district level quiz winners will be given the benefit of two days tour zone wise. For State level winners – 150 students and 750 citizens, a three days tour will be given zone wise. DeshGujarat
