Five villages of Sagbara taluka to be developed as ‘Model Tribal Villages’

Narmada: Tata Rallis India as part of their CSR activities decided to adopt five villages of Sagbara taluka and develop them as “model tribal villages.’ The company has approved Rs 75 lakh for this purpose under CSR activities for 2022-23. A program was organized in the presence of taluka panchayat member, Bahadurbhai Vasava, and Head of Rallis India’s Dahej plant, Sanjay Sapati, at Moti Mogri village.

Speaking at the program, CSR Head, Jignasaben, that various activities for the overall development of locals had been organized starting from January at Moti Mogri village. A special education entertainment center had become functional for school going children. As part of this initiative, one employee each from the institute was assisting school children of all the five villages in studies before and after school hours.

The farmers of in these villages are dependent on rain-fed agriculture. They have no source of income left during the summer season. As part of long term planning and to ensure that farmers in these villages become self-dependent even during the summer season, an ‘Ambavadi project’ is being implemented as part of which about 100 farmers of the 800 in the five villages have been given 50 mango saplings each. While economic opportunities are also being generated for those who are landless in these villages.

A kitchen garden project is also being implemented in these five villages with the aim to ensure nutritious food for the children in the village. Under this project, all farmers in all these five villages have been provided seeds of 11 food grains. The vegetables and pulses that are harvested through these seeds will benefit the farmers.

Jignasaben appealed to the people to come forward and wholeheartedly support these initiatives of fundamentally transforming the villages.
