GUDC clears solar power projects at 4 sumps, townhall in Mehsana
July 12, 2022
Mehsana: The Gujarat Urban Development Corporation (GUDC) has approved the setting up of solar power plants at four sumps and the townhall in regards to a proposal put before it by the Mehsana Municipality.
The expenditure on setting up all the five power plants will be borne by the state government, which will enable the Mehsana local body to cut down the power bills by a whopping Rs 2.91 crore.
The GUDC has asked all municipalities in the state to come up with proposals for setting up solar power plants with the twin objectives of encouraging renewable energy consumption along with reducing some of the burden of state power utilities.
The Mehsana municipality had proposed setting up solar power projects at nine different spots in the city against which the GUDC has issued clearance on five such spots that already have HT connection.
No decision has been taken as yet for setting up solar projects at four other spots, including the city civic center, because they have LT connection. DeshGujarat
