Around 30 per cent area of Navsari water logged

Navsari: Around 30 percent of Navsari has been water logged due to very heavy rain.

Total 14 thousand people have been transferred to safe places due to the flood in Navsari. The district administration is on high alert due to very heavy rain and flooding. Total 2 NDRF teams are deployed in Navsari district including 1 in Navsari and 1 in Bilimora. Two more NDRF teams are called from Surat and Valsad. The district collector, DDO, and SP disaster are at the office from night.

National Highway 48 is closed near Chikhli. The flooding has occurred at Chikhli-Alipore route on NH 48. The NDRF team rescued 8 people in Navinnagar of Navsari. The NDRF team deployed at Bilimora rescued 21 people stuck in Pratapnagar of Vansda taluka. The police have arranged bandobast at the road points near the river bank in the district.

Vansda taluka of Navsari reported the highest rain in the state which is 15 inch within the last 24 hours. As per the report of SEOC Gandhinagar, Vansda reported 394 mm rain within the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.

The roads in various talukas of Navsari have been closed due to flooding. The main road in Sonvadi taluka is closed. Total 168 people of 39 families of Machhivad, Dera Faliyu, Khadivad, Gageshwar Faliyu, Nagda Faliya of Sonvadi are transferred. The roads namely Navsari to Gandevi, Ichchhapor to Salej and Kolvad to Salej are closed in Salej taluka. Total 54 people of 13 families are transferred to a house at a height from Tekri faliya, Nadi faliya and Navakuva in Salej.

The road from Navsari main road to Ichchhapor, all the roads of Gadat taluka, Gandevi-Navsari road, Gandevi-Dhamzada road besides Panmora faliya, Amalsad-Dhamdachha road, Devdha Dhamdachha road, Dhamchhada-Kachholi road, Kolva-Kachholi road, Taliya-Devdha road, Dhamdachha-Amalsad road are closed.
