Portion of Ahmedabad – Mumbai Highway in South Gujarat closed for traffic

Navsari: The regular traffic on the Ahmedabad – Mumbai national highway has suffered disruption due to very heavy and continuous rainfall in South Gujarat.
According to the district collector of Navsari, the Ahmedabad – Mumbai highway stretch connecting Chikhli Alipor to Valsad has been closed for traffic over safety and security reasons due to water logging on the national highway.
The district collector has appealed to all citizens to avoid use of this highway stretch.
Navsari district had nearly 7 inches of rainfall from 6 am to 10 am today. Prior to that in the past 24 hours, the district had over 15.5 inches of rainfall in Vansda taluka. DeshGujarat
