SMC’s Suman Schools to get interactive boards, school management system

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation run Suman Schools will go hi-tech with interactive boards to be set up at 23 Suman Schools at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Along with the interactive board, plans are also afoot to launch a School Management System which will ensure that the attendance and progress reports of teachers and students are available at the finger tips.

The efforts of the SMC to make these schools technically sound will ensure that even the underprivileged children will get education of the same quality as provided by private schools.

The standing committee of the SMC has approved a proposal to set up 69 interactive boards in 23 Suman Schools (3 interactive boards per Suman School) at a cost of Rs 2 crore. The SMC is already providing a grant to all its members for providing basic facilities to city dwellers. The money for installing these interactive panel and accessories systems will come from this grant.

So far as the School Management System is concerned, it will make available information regarding the attendance of teachers and performance as well as behavior of students at the finger tips. The system can be used to watch all educational channels offered by the board whereas the education software will also be displayed on the board.
