Two additional Collector, five Deputy Collectors appointed in Navsari district to speed up post-flood tasks

Navsari: The state government has immediately deputed two additional collectors and five deputy collectors to speed up the relief and survey work in flood-hit Navsari district.
A high level review meeting of heads of related departments was held in SEOC (State Emergency Operation Centre) Gandhinagar chaired by chief secretary Pankaj Kumar to review the areas affected with rain in the state including Navsari.
The senior officials of related departments will hold camps in Navsari district to restore the basic needs such as electricity, drinking water, roads and medical facilities and speed up the restoration work.
The Chief Secretary informed that around 13 thousand people were in shelter homes in Navsari and added that the local administration has arranged all the facilities for them including meals.
The teams of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), along with deputy commissioner, are sent to Navsari for works such as medical, spraying chemicals, and hygiene in municipality areas in Navsari district. The successful rescue of total 811 people has been done with joint efforts of the Navsari administration, NDRF, SDRF, coastguard, locals and leaders, he added.
