Rs 46.40 crore 4-lane flyover to be built on Vadodara’s Sama-Savli road
July 21, 2022
Vadodara: To reduce traffic density around Sama lake in Vadodara, the city’s civic body has decided to develop a four-lane overbridge on the road connecting Urmi bridge with the Dumaad crossroads at a cost of Rs 46.40 crore.
There are already two existing flyovers on Sama-Savli road in the form of Urmi bridge and Sama-Harni bridge. Vehicles arrive at Sama Lake from both the Expressway and the National Highway while traffic leaving the city also passes along this spot. The situation has been further compounded with the area being developed as a commercial zone.
To improve the situation with regard to traffic, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has planned a flyover from above Abacus Circle near Sama lake. If everything goes according to plans, the flyover will be ready by 2025. A proposal for this flyover has been put before the standing committee of VMC for their approval. A meeting of the standing committee to discuss this proposal has been scheduled today.
