Gujarat govt rolls out ‘ Family First – Samjavat Nu Sarnamu ‘ scheme

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has implemented the ‘Family First- Samjavat Nu Sarnamu’ scheme, under which a committee will be formed at the district and taluka level in the state for redressal and resolution of family conflicts.

Minister of law Rajendra Trivedi informed that a committee of seven members will be formed at district and taluka levels under the leadership of district collector or residential additional collector at district level and mamlatdar at taluka level. The forum of the meeting of the committee will consist of three present members.

The case will be resolved through proper counseling of involved parties. The decision will be made after investigating all the issues affecting family safety and well being. The committee will have at least two advocate members. One female member will also be appointed in the committee if possible. The elected representatives will be called as two invited members.

Only the non government members of the committee will receive Rs 1500 per day, and maximum Rs 8 thousand per month for redressing a case. The statements of the party will be kept secret.
