Congress leader deletes her tweet insulting Gujaratis; Issues Apology

Ahmedabad: Congress party office bearer Nattasha Sharma, In-Charge of Mahila Congress’s Social Media, deleted her day-old tweet insulting the people of Gujarat after backlash all over the internet. Additionally, she apologized earlier today for the statement she made regarding Gujarat in another tweet.

Gujarat Sports Minister Harsh Sanghavi had slammed Congress over this in a series of tweets where he said, “It is highly condemnable to break the country in the field of sports with such derogatory words…”

“Stop insulting the players! You have tarnished the hard work and passion of the players who took India into the top 5 in the world with 61 medals.
Now talking about my Gujarat, let me tell you that the players of Gujarat have won 5 medals in Commonwealth Games,” he added.

Sanghavi also said, “This is not the first time that Congress has condemned the country or Gujarat. Again the character of the Congress party is in front of the people of Gujarat! After all, where is the Congress bringing so much hatred for Gujarat, he asked.

In a final tweet, the minister asked the congress party to apologize to the talented sportspersons of Gujarat.

The Congress leader in her hate tweet had asked whether someone from Gujarat has also brought a gold medal in sports, or they are just gold medalists in looting banks and fleeing!

Some reactions to her tweet that is now deleted.
