Gujarat completes 93% of average monsoon rain

Ahmedabad: Gujarat has completed more than 90% of the total average rain. As of Wednesday morning, the state has received a 93.32 % rain of average monsoon with a total rainfall of 793.36 mm against the average of 850 mm, as per the zone-wise report on rainfall dated 17th August 2022.

According to State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, Dantiwada of Banaskantha received about 5.5-inch rain on Wednesday morning with 140 mm of rainfall between 6 AM and 10 AM.

Songadh taluka in Tapi district reported the highest rainfall in 24 hours with 189 mm of rain. A total of 246 out of 251 talukas in Gujarat received rain showers yesterday.

Talukas of Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Mehsana, Patan, Valsad, Surat, and Gandhinagar received more than 100 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.

Kutch District has received the highest rainfall against the average rain of the monsoon season, which stands at 143.22 %, followed by 135.24 % in Narmada District and 120.06 % in Porbandar.

Lakhpat of Kutch district has the highest average rainfall percentage of 233.54 % with total rainfall of 855 mm, followed by 197.37 % in Bhuj.
