ACB Gujarat nabs a policeman in bribe case in Surat

Surat: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed an assistant police constable of surveillance staff of Mahidharpura police station in Surat city in a bribe case of Rs 30 thousand.
A case of India-made foreign liquor was filed against a lady known by the complainant. The accused assistant police constable Jigneshbhai Daljibhai Pantrod called the complainant and told him that his name is revealed in the case. The accused then demanded a bribe of Rs 50 thousand from the complainant for not revealing his name in the case. The bribe was reduced to Rs 30 thousand after arguments. The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused was found accepting a bribe of Rs 30 thousand from the complainant during a trap executed by ACB. The accused is detained.
