Four dead in car accident on Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway

Vadodara: Four people died in an accident near Mehmedabad on Ahmedabad- Vadodara express highway in Kheda district, in which a car smashed with a halted container.

The accident occurred at around 8 pm on Thursday near Reliance Petrol Pump of Mehmedabad on Ahmedabad – Vadodara express highway. A car (number: GJ 27 AA 3063), going to Vadodara from Ahmedabad, smashed with a container standing on the highway. Total four including the driver of the car died in the accident.

The four people who died in the accident include two females, one male, and a 2.5-year old girl child. They are: 1. Jayshreeben Kiritbhai Purani 2. Kruti Ashishbhai Purani 3. Jaini Ashishbhai Purani 4. Akbarkhan Firdoshkhan Pathan (driver). The policemen on highway patrolling conveyed the matter to Mehmedabad police after learning about the accident. The car was pulled with a crane and the dead bodies were sent to Nadiad civil hospital for post mortem. The deceased are residents of Vatva area in Ahmedabad, as found in the primary investigation of the police. The accident occurred when a friend was taking the family members of another friend in a car, who met with an accident near Bharuch.

The container (no GJ 12 BW 1387) was parked on the highway without any barrier after a puncture in it. The container was parked on the roadside without switching on its lights. The car smashed with the container as the driver couldn’t notice it. Mehmedabad police has started the procedure of filing a crime as per complaint.
