Indian citizenship given to 40 more refugees from Pakistan in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi yesterday, handed over the citizenship certificate to 40 Hindu refugees from Pakistan in the Ahmedabad Collectors’ office.

Minister informed in a tweet that the Collectors office has given citizenship certificates to 1032 refugees since 2016. While welcoming the new citizens Sanghavi said, “You will be entitled to all the civic rights given to Indian citizens and will benefit from various developmental schemes.”
In a video tweeted by Sanghavi, A young Divyang girl named Ruhi got emotional after receiving the citizenship certificate and hugged the home minister of state.

Earlier this month 24 Pakistani refugees were given citizenship in Rajkot.
