South East Asia’s first ‘ Centre for Industrial Mathematics ‘ opens at MS University Vadodara

Vadodara: The first ‘Center for Industrial Mathematics’ of India as well as South East Asia has started in the applied mathematics department of the Faculty of Technology at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara.

The director of the center and lecturer of technology faculty Prof Dhanesh Patel said that engineering and mathematics are two sides of the same coin. Mathematics can play a significant role in resolving the problems of industries. The mathematical models are very useful for electrical, chemical, mechanical, and textile industries.

The students of post graduation of applied mathematics will work to resolve the issues of industries. Initially, the work will be done regarding the issues of four industries. One of the four industries is from Finland. Prof Patel said that the liaison between the university and industry will increase due to the center, which will generate employment opportunities for the students. DeshGujarat
