No source villages of Nalkantha to get Narmada irrigation

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to include all the 32 no-source villages of Nalkantha in the Narmada project covered irrigation area, after recommended by Union home minister Amit Shah in a meeting.
Union Home minister Amit Shah had recommended the state government to quickly resolve the water scarcity issue in Nalkantha villages. Total 9415 hectares land of 1700 farmers of 11 Nalkantha villages will get Narmada water for irrigation.
The state government had recently decides to include 111 villages of Fatevadi Kharikat into Narmada scheme irrigation area. There were 21 villages of Nalkantha among those 111 villages. The remaining 11 villages, which remained excluded from irrigation areas, are also included in irrigation area of Narmada scheme.
Thus, total 132 villages of Nalkantha and Fatevadi Kharicut are included in irrigation area of Narmada yojna.
