Gujarat Govt announces special facilities to senior citizens in all medical institutes

Gandhinagar: The state government has decided to provide special facilities to senior citizens in all the medical institutes of the state.

Special facilities will be provided to senior citizens above 60 years of age at all the district civil hospitals, medical college-affiliated hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centers, and urban health centers of corporations, and hospitals. The facility of a separate line for the senior citizens for OPD, cash window, physiotherapy center, laboratory, and medicine window will be made available at the government hospitals and health centers. A special OPD will be made available where possible.

A special ward will be made available for senior citizens at medical college-affiliated hospitals, municipal corporation hospitals, district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and community health centers. If that is not possible, then at least 2 beds will be kept reserved in each ward. The signage boards will be installed for it.

Necessary help will be also provided by contacting the 24*7 elder helpline 14567 run by the social justice and empowerment department for senior citizens.
