Rahul Gandhi announces election promises in Gujarat

Sabarmati: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally of booth-level party workers for the upcoming Assembly elections in Gujarat. During his address at Sabarmati riverfront, today, he made major pre-poll announcements to woe the voter of the state. 

“Sardar Patel was the voice of the farmers. BJP on one side makes his tallest statue & on the other side, works against people for whom he fought. if we come to power in Gujarat, we’ll waive off farmers’ debts upto Rs 3 lakhs: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, in Ahmedabad.

The promises that Rahul Gandhi made are as follows:

1. A waiver of farm loans of up to Rs 3 lakh if Congress comes to power

2. The electricity bills of farmers will be waived. 300 units of electricity will be given free of cost to common consumers.

3. COVID Compensation of Rs 2.4 lakh will be given to 3 lakh families of Gujarat who have lost their people in the Covid pandemic.

4. 10 lakh jobs will be taken out for the youth, in which 50% of the jobs will be for girls.

5. Congress will end the contract system in government jobs in Gujarat and an unemployment allowance of Rs 3000 will be given to the youth.

6. 3000 government English medium schools will be opened all over Gujarat and KG to PG education of girls will be free.

7. Milk producers of Gujarat will be given a subsidy of ₹ 5 on 1 liter, gas cylinders will be given for Rs 500

8. We will bring a law against corruption and there will be a scrutiny of the corruption done in the last 27 years and the guilty will be sent to jail

Addressing the party workers, Rahul Gandhi said that “Babbar shers have come from every area of ​​Gujarat. I know what you have been enduring for 25 years in Gujarat. This fight is not between a political party but between ideologies.”

Attacking the BJP government he said, “Gujarat has become the center of drugs. All drugs are moved from Mundra port but your govt doesn’t take any action, This is the Gujarat model. Gujarat is one state where you’ve to take permission before protesting, permission from those against whom protest will be done has to be taken,” he added.
