A portion of speech of  Anand Sagar Swami, shishya of Prabodh Swami, about Bhagvan Shiva, had resulted in controversy after it went viral.

Controversial Swaminarayan priest had stated, “Nishithbhai went towards the main gate by order off Prabodhswami. The gate was closed and Shivji was standing outside the gate. Nishithbhai described to me that the way we see in the pictures, Shivji had a Jata, wrapped a Naga, wore Rudraksha, Trishula in hand, and he was standing properly with all the properties. Nishithbhai then prayed to him, “Come inside as you have reached upto here. So, you can do Darshan of Prabodh Swamiji. Shivji told Nishithbhai, “My Punya (good deeds) are not that much  so far that I can have the darshan of Prabodh Swami. But I am very fortunate that I could have darshan of yours(Nishithbhai, the bhakta of Prabodhwami).” After stating this, Shivji did Charan Sparsh of that youth Nishithbhai, and left from there. This is the attainment we made.”

The statement of Prabodh Swami’s sycophant Anand Sagar Swami resulted in controversy. Anand Sagar Swami finally apologized for the statement. He said that Prabodh Swami punished him with a 7 day fast and to obey Mauna.

This is not first instance in which the saints and priests of Swamianarayan sect are found speaking against the Gods of Sanatan parampara. In the past too several such videos have come to the public and respective saints have apologized after uproar. Ram kathakar Morari Bapu had once also objected how Swamiarayan saints speak about Hindu Gods in derogatory manner and how the idol of Swaminarayan are put in Swaminarayan temple in the center with Sanatan Hindu gods on the sidelines.
