Bhadarvi Poonam Fair at Ambaji: Partnership with CRDF enables pilgrims to avail better facilities
September 07, 2022
Gandhinagar: The much-awaited Bhadarvi Poonam Fair has begun at Ambaji. Pilgrims from various parts of Gujarat and India have thronged the temple. To provide better facilities to pilgrims, the Pavitra Yatradham Board, in association with CRDF (CEPT Research and Development Foundation), conducted a mapping of the temple premises to ensure that necessary arrangements are in place for tourists. CRDF worked on various facilities on the premises such as parking facility design, announcement system, etc.
The state government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is committed to ensure development for pilgrim places across Gujarat. ‘Seva Camps’ are organised on the entire route to Ambaji for pilgrims where they are provided tea-coffee, medical facilities, accommodation etc. Pilgrims are eager to visit the fair for the first time after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

QR Code for pilgrims
The QR Code will provide pilgrims with complete information on various facilities at pilgrim places.
‘Matrumilan Project’
The ‘Matrumilan Project’ aims to re-unite lost children with their families. The project is a result of the joint efforts of Vodafone-Idea with the district administration. Under this project, every child will be wearing a QR-Code Card around the neck. This code is unique for each child. And the data of each of their parents with the mobile number is fed in the code.
Two girls from Mahisagar were successfully re-united with their parents through this digital initiative.
Neha Prajapati, a devotee, who is visiting the temple with her family on foot says, “It is a special moment for everyone as the fair is being organised for the first time after COVID-19. Four lane roads have ensured that pilgrims, on foot, do not face any major hurdles. The ‘Seva Camps’ are a great respite for all the travellers on foot as we are able to rest well and recharge ourselves to visit the Goddess and seek her blessings”.
