PM Modi to flag off first Vande Bharat Express train on Mumbai – Gandhinagar route on Sept 30th

Gandhinagar: The first Vande Bharat train will run between Gujarat capital Gandhinagar and Maharashtra capital Mumbai. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said this in reply to a media query today. Vaishnav was on visit to Gujarat.

He said – the first Vande Bharat Express train will run between Gandhinagar and Mumbai. It will be flagged off and dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30th September.

Vaishnav said – three to four Vande Bahrat trains will be made each month starting from October/November.

It’s worth noting that the first trial of Vande Bharat train was conducted on Mumbai – Ahmedabad route recently. The train took little over five hours time to travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Vaishnav visited Sabarmati multimode hub terminal in Ahmedabad and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project.

He said – the bullet train is very important project for the country. Pillars are erected in 80 kms length so far and the works on all the Stations for this project are in progress. The one at Sabarmati is multimode hub terminal. It will have metro, BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System), Indian Railways’ trains, High Speed Railway (Bullet train) at one place in integrated manner. This hub will also result into the redevelopment of Sabarmati area. It will bring in new activities and new identity for this area. The works on Sabarmati hub will be completed in next January or February.

Vaishnav said – above the pillars, the duct will come up and then track will be laid along with power poles. The works are going on as per the target.

In reply to a question he said – The Maharashtra government is now (after BJP came to power) cooperating very well. Full cooperation is achieved and they are ready for advance possession of BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai) land for the project. DeshGujarat
