SAI team visits Vadodara’s Sama Sports Complex to review preparations for National Games

Vadodara: As Gujarat is all set to host the 36th National Games in six cities, a senior team from Sports Authority of India (SAI) visited Vadodara Sama Sports Complex to review the preparations. The city is to host Gymnastics and Hand Ball competitions as part of games and the team visit to ensure all in place before the big day. They also suggest some minor points to the officials and request to complete the preparations before the start of National Games.
Ekta Vishnoi, Senior Director SAI lead the team of Prashant Singh, Deputy Director SAI, Assistant Director Deepak Sabu and Development Officer Rakesh Kumar as part of pre visit to Vadodara to review the preparations ahead of the 36th National Games. The city is going to host Gymnastics and Hand Ball and the senior team from SAI visited to ensure the host city completes the preparation well ahead of the start of games. They were accompanied by members from Sports Authority of Gujarat and District Sports Development Officer Krishna Pandya and visited multipurpose hall, Table Tennis Hall, Badminton Hall, Swimming Pool area and give suggestions regarding shifting of players warm area and early completion of ongoing repair work. Overall the team is happy with the preparations at Sama Sports Complex.
“Vadodara is going to host Gymnastics and Hand Ball as part of 36th National Games and we visited the Sama Sports Complex to review the preparations and to give suggestions wherever necessary. I am happy to see State government and all are ready to welcome the games. They planned in detail about the players warm up area, player’s area, accommodation, travelling and others. We gave minor suggestions to them and hopeful to give a world class platform to players before the games. I am happy to see the enthusiasm in Gujarat and this will give a boost to the sporting culture here,” said Ekta Vishnoi, Senior Director SAI.
Mayor Keyur Rokadia said, the corporation and State Government will work on the suggestions given by the team from Delhi and all the work will be completed quickly. DSDO Krishna Pandya said, around 400 atletes are expected to visit Vadodara for the two games and they are all set for their accommodation, transportation and catering. Her team will work on the suggestions given by the SAI team during their visit to the facility.
Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agrawal, Standing Committee Chairman Dr. Hitendra Patel and other officials remain present during the visit of SAI team.
