Narmada: The female Talati of Narkhadi gram panchayat in Nandod taluka of Narmada district nabbed by Surat ACB (Anti Corruption Bureau) in a bribe case involving the sum of ₹ 1 lakh, had allegedly told the complainant that she wears sandals of over ₹ 10 thousand when the complainant had asked to reduce the bribe amount.
Surat ACB recently nabbed a female Talati named Nita Patel in a bribe case of ₹ 1 lakh along with a middleman Mahesh Ahjoliya. It is found that Mahesh Ahjoliya was the coach of the accused female Talati. Mahesh Ahjoliya teaches at ‘Gyan Academy’ in Gandhinagar and the accused female had studied at the same academy to crack the Talati recruitment exam.
An application was filed in the Narkhadi gram panchayat to allot house numbers and give other approvals for the need for an electricity meter. The accused Talati Nita Mokambhai Patel had demanded a bribe of ₹ 1,00,000 from the complainant for the same. She had asked to pay the bribe to the middleman Maheshbhai Amrutbhai Ahjoliya through a courier to Gandhinagar. The complainant had requested to reduce the amount of bribes. So, the female Talati had argued that she does her job only as a ‘hobby’, and doesn’t even wear sandals below the cost of ₹ 10 thousand.
The accused middleman Mahesh Ahjoliya runs Gyan Academy in sector 6 in Gandhinagar. It is learnt that Mahesh Ahjoliya was also a government employee, who had resigned a few months ago.
