Ahmedabad Crime Branch nabs agent working for Pakistan and his aide from Rakhial

Sabarmati: Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police has arrested an agent working for Pakistan and his aide who used to sell Indian sim cards to a Pakistani agent.

The alleged Pakistani agent who goes by the name Faroukh Ansari was arrested in Rakhiyal area of the city at around 3 AM today. The family of the accused lives in Pakistan, and he had activated multiple sim cards in the name of a relative. He used a website to communicate with his superiors in Pakistan.

Police have also detained Abdul Wahab (72) in connection with this case, who used to deliver the SIM cards of Indian telecom companies to the operatives of the Pakistani Intelligence Agency. As per the sources Wahab had sent as many as 10 sim cards to Pakistan.

According to the Police, Pakistani intelligence agencies were trying to get confidential information from a retired officer of the armed forces. On the basis of this information, the Crime Branch has registered an FRI and further investigation is going on.
