Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s building and road committee approved Rs 342 crores for two new buildings for hospitals run by AMC in eastern Ahmedabad, on Monday.
A new building for Shardaben hospital will be built in Ashok Mill Compound at the estimated cost of ₹178 crores, and a new multi-storeyed hospital building costing ₹164 cores will be erected in place of the old LG building in Maninagar.
A senior committee member claimed, “The AMC has approved the budget for the two hospitals building at 22.67% and 23.4% higher than the estimated cost.”
Project has been delayed for two years due to indecision on area land clearance issues. But now the work is finally about to start.
