Gujarat polls: Publication of electoral rolls on October 10: CEC

Gandhinagar: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar while addressing the media after two-day review of election related preparedness in Gujarat stated today that last publication of electoral rolls will be done on October 10, after which, the final number of voters will be known. He added that even after that, whenever the election is announced, new names can be added till the nomination date, by filling up form number six.
Rajiv Kumar said there are total 51,782 polling station. While some polling station will accommodate upto 1500 voters, the average number of voters per polling station is 934.
He said each constituency will have one model polling station. He said in every constituency one polling station at least will be run by Divyangjan. Each polling station will be on the ground floor and will have light, drinking water, ramp etc facilities. Seven booths in each assembly seat will be run by women only, including all women police.
