Surat based firm plans expansions worth ₹ 5000 Cr in Solar Energy Sector

Surat : Goldi Solar, a solar PV module manufacturer in Surat , announced huge expansion plans with a capital infusion of Rs 5,000 crore on Monday. The company is about to start the production at its cell manufacturing unit in Gujarat. It aims to expand its capacity to make solar PV modules to 5GW.
The managing director of the firm, Ishver Dholakiya said, “To create employment at the grassroot level, the company plans to hire 25% of the workforce from the local tribal regions adjoining the proposed manufacturing facility”.
Company will train the new recruits for a career in renewables, it will conduct three months certification programs at the skill development centre that they plan to open in collaboration with the NSDC(National Skill Development Council)
“We are confident of increasing our presence with the proposed capacity expansion exercise,” said Hardip Singh, President and global head Sales & Marketing of Goldi Solar.
