Vande Bharat Express: Time Table, Ticket Price for Gandhinagar Mumbai Route

Gandhinagar: PM Modi flagged off Vande Bharat Express Train on Gandhinagar – Mumbai route yesterday. The semi-high speed train is the third Vande Bharat Express train with the two others being New Delhi to Varanasi and New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Running Schedule of Vande Bharat Express 

With train no. 20901 Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express, will start its journey from Mumbai Central station at 6.10 am and reach Gandhinagar at 12.30 pm. For the return journey, Starting from Gandhinagar Railway station at 2.05 pm the train will arrive at Mumbai Central at 8.35 pm. Train no. will change to 20902 for Gandhinagar Capital to Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express.

The train will have three stoppages at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad stations and will be operational six days of the week, except Sunday.

The price of tickets from Gandhinagar Capital to Mumbai Central is kept at Rs. 1320 for Chair Car (CC) and Rs. 2415 for Executive Chair Car (EC). You can book the tickets in both offline mode (from the station) and online mode from https://www.irctc.co.in/

This newly introduced semi-high-speed train also comes with a befitting Health Conscious Low Calorie Millet Rich Regional menu. The customised menu for Vande Bharat Train is also in sync with the theme of ensuing year 2023 which is poised to be celebrated World over as the International Year of Millets. The initiative has been steered by India in the U.N. General Assembly adopting a resolution in April 2021 and declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

The train offers a myriad of superior and aircraft-like travelling experiences. It is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System – KAVACH.

Vande Bharat 2.0 will be equipped with more advancements and improved features such as reaching the speed of 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 52 seconds, and a maximum speed up to 180 kilometres per hour. The improved train will weigh 392 tons when compared to the previous version of 430 tons. It will also have a Wi-Fi content on-demand facility. Every coach is equipped with 32” screens providing passenger information and infotainment compared to 24” in the previous version. Vande Bharat Express is also going to be environment friendly as the ACs will be 15 per cent more energy efficient. With dust-free clean air cooling of the traction motor, the travel will become more comfortable. Side recliner seat facility which was provided only to Executive Class passengers earlier will now be made available for all classes. Executive Coaches have the added feature of 180-degree rotating seats

In the new design of Vande Bharat train, a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification system is installed in the Roof-Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) for air purification.  As recommended by Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, this system is designed and installed on both ends of RMPU to filter and clean the air free from germs, bacteria, viruses etc. coming through fresh air and return air.
