Congress leader insults President and involves Gujarat while doing so; BJP hits out at Congress

New Delhi: Congress leader Udit Raj’s tweet about President Droupadi Murmu has created a controversy. In a tweet about the Mumru Udit Raj had said that ” No country should get a President like Draupadi Murmu ji. Chamchagiri also has its limits. She said that 70% of people eat salt of Gujarat. If you live life by eating salt yourself, you will know.”  After the tweet NCW has now sent a notice to the former MP.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra attacked the congress leader in a statement to a news agency and said “Words used for President Murmu by Congress leader Udit Raj worrisome, unfortunate. This isn’t the 1st time they’ve used such words. Congress’ Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury did it too. This reflects their anti-tribal mindset”

National Commission for Women has sent a notice to former MP Udit Raj to appear before the Commission in person on October 10. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said “His statement is not just against a woman but a constitutional head of govt. Has she been targeted because she is a woman? Comments made are condemnable, have issued notice. The derogatory language used is shameful”

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla also hit out at the Congress party for insulting the president time and again saying that ‘Congress stoops to a new low.’
