Gandhinagar: Mahendrasinh Vaghela, the son of Shankarsinh Vaghela, the Former CM of Gujarat has rejoined the Congress party today. He formally joined the Congress party in the presence of senior Congress leaders at the State party headquarters today.

The Gujarat Congress president, Jagdish Thakor, welcomed Mahendrasinh Vaghela to the party at the state office.  Vaghela has rejoined the party after five years gap. He had resigned from Congress in 2017.

Mahendrasinh Vaghela said: “I want to fight against politics of hate. I was never comfortable in the BJP… Now I am back in the Congress, and will work for the party.”

Vaghela also said that neither he has demanded anything nor has the congress party made any commitment. He will take up whatever assignment is given to him by the party. However, he now has a strong chance of getting a ticket from his old seat Bayad.
