New Delhi: Ahead of Chhathh Puja, a very important festival of Biharis and other North Indians, the photographs and videos comparing Yamuna river of Delhi and Sabarmati Riverfront of Gujarat are going viral. Thousands of tweeples are slamming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over highly polluted Yamuna river and admiring Sabarmati Riverfront of Gujarat. Kejriwal’s AAP government has come twice in power by promising clean Yamuna in time bound manner. However Yamuna continues to be polluted with foam on the surface. During the festival of Chhath Puja, large number of Bihari people take bath in rivers. For last several years, the devotees either take bath in polluted foam-mixed river waters or stay away as they have no other option. This year, the teams of Delhi Jal Board in attempt of face saving, are spraying chemicals into the river Yamuna to dissolve the foam caused by the hefty pollution in Delhi. While this may save optics, the chemical being sprayed is believed dangerous for skin.

While Arvind Kejriwal is busy campaign in Gujarat the people of Delhi are at health risk due to this pollution in river Yamuna. Gujarat Based senior Journalist Nirnay Kapoor yesterday shared the pics of preparation at Sabarmati river front and said, “Due to the pollution of Yamuna in Delhi, you are seeing the ruckus on Chhath Puja, now just look at the preparations for Chhath Puja in Ahmedabad, there are only 2-3% Bihari in Ahmedabad, this Chhath Ghat was built separately for them, which is being cleaned. Yes, pollution is also “0” in Sabarmati”

Now the comparison clip of Sabarmati river in Gujarat and Yamuna in AAP ruled are going viral on Social media as user point out the difference in cleanliness of both the rivers.

BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also tweeted the pics for comparison and wrote, “On Left see Gujarat Model where preparations for छठ पूजा are being done in Ahmedabad. On Right Hand Side is Kejriwal Model where toxic Silicone Defoamer was used & now there is a ban on all ghats of Yamuna ji because Kejriwal betrayed Maa Yamuna.”
